The Midwifery Practitioners Association, India (MPAI) is a national organization dedicated to the growth, recognition, and support of the midwifery profession across India. Officially registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1958 in Rajasthan, MPAI serves as a collective voice for midwives and midwifery educators, working to enhance the quality of maternal and newborn care through education, policy advocacy, professional development, and research.
We believe that every woman deserves access to safe, respectful, and culturally appropriate care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Our members include practicing midwives, student midwives, educators, healthcare professionals, and allies committed to strengthening midwifery-led care in India.
